Andrew Thomason

Born 1953 in Buckinghamshire, raised in Letchworth, Herts with parents, brother and sister Jane. Lived in Winchester from 1973 until 1980. Moved to London, first to Hither Green then, in 1981 to 38 Alverstone House, next to Kennington Oval, where he lived until shortly before his untimely death in April 2007.

Throughout his life Andrew was never unemployed for any length of time. He had several jobs; bicycle repair man at Winchester College, postman (first in Winchester then, in the early 1990s, in Camberwell), silkscreen printer, art technician, photographers assistant and finally operations manager at Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport.

1973 – 76 Winchester School of Art. Studied Fine Art (Painting), visiting lecturers included Norman Ackroyd. Jennifer Durrant, Ivor Cutler, David Royle, Ed Meneely, Edward Lucy-Smith and Patrick Heron
